ALVITA - Alvita White Willow Bark Tea (24 bags)
$CAD 6.99
Native to Europe and central Asia, White Willow (Salix alba) is now naturalized in North America. A deciduous tree growing up to 70 feet tall, White Willow has finely toothed, lance-shaped silky leaves and a gray bark. Willow appears frequently in formulas on the 4000 year old Sumerian tablet from Nippur; in the famous Ebers Papyrus from Egypt, and in ancient Assyrian tablets.
Dioscorides, the Greek physician of the first century, was the first to widely use White Willow in his practice. Over the centuries, the list of White Willow's uses expanded. Colonists brought White Willow with then to North America and were intrigued to dicover Native Americans already using the Willow bark for its health benefits.
