Helps provide an ideal range of multivitamins for children aged 1-8
    Scientific Background
It is impossible to over-emphasize the importance of good nutrition in the first eight years of life. Children grow very quickly, laying down the foundation that must carry them throughout their lives. Sound nutrition is essential to make sure that this foundation develops as well as possible.

For example, the first eight years of life are crucial for brain development. While babies are born with a brain that is just one-quarter the size of an adult’s, by the time children reach school-going age their brains have grown almost to adult size.

Moreover, by the age of 17, 90% of bone mass has usually been laid down. Building strong bones in the early years will lessen the chances of bone-related problems, such as osteoporosis, later. Therefore, it is essential that young children get sufficient Vitamin D, as this enables them to absorb the calcium they need to promote healthy bone growth. Vitamin D also promotes healthy muscle growth.

    The Problem with Modern Foods
It’s hard enough to persuade children to eat a well-balanced diet. But to make matters worse, our polluted environment combines with processing methods to sap much of the goodness from modern foods. Produce grows in depleted soils under polluted skies, and is often treated with pesticides. After that impoverished beginning, it is usually refined and processed into something else - apple sauce, or apple juice, for example. In the process, most of the remaining nutrients disappear. Then, preservatives are added to keep the product fresh until it reaches the stores. By the time well-meaning parents serve it to their children, there may be little or no nutrient value in it at all. So even if children do sit down to balanced meals every day, they may still be malnourished. And the fact that most children prefer junk foods to healthy foods only makes matters worse.

    How Kiddie Super Multi Helps
    • Kiddie Super Multi helps to make up for the nutritional deficiencies that may arise from poor-quality modern foods.
    • Kiddie Super Multi is intended to work in conjunction with a diet that is as healthy as possible. It helps to nourish growing brains with a potent combination of important B vitamins - including B6, B12, and Folic Acid, which are considered to be the powerhouse trio of B vitamins for brain health.
    • Kiddie Super Multi includes Vitamin A and Zinc to help avoid deficiencies that could compromise immune health. Vitamin A also functions as an antioxidant. Parents should also make sure children eat plenty of foods that are rich in Vitamin A, such as eggs, milk, darkly coloured fruits and vegetables, carrots, cantaloupes, sweet potatoes, and spinach. Foods that are rich in Zinc include red meat, poultry, beans, nuts, whole grains, and dairy products.
    • Kiddie Super Multi contains Selenium, Vitamin E and Vitamin C - which are all powerful antioxidants. Ideally, children should also eat a selection of the following antioxidant-rich foods: citrus fruits, broccoli, green leafy vegetables, strawberries, tomatoes (for Vitamin C), nuts and seeds, whole grains, green leafy vegetables, (for Vitamin E), and fish, red meat, grains, eggs, chicken and garlic (for Selenium). Vitamin C also supports the immune system.
    • Kiddie Super Multi promotes optimal bone and muscle health and growth with a generous quantity of Vitamin D3, which is better absorbed than D2. For ideal bone support, Kiddie Super Multi should be taken in conjunction with a good calcium supplement, such as SISU Kiddie Cal. Calcium has not been added to Kiddie Super Multi for two reasons: a multivitamin cannot accommodate the amount of calcium required; and as calcium does not dissolve well, it would have made the liquid mixture gritty - potentially causing children to object to the taste.
